Meetings Diary

We meet at Dunnington Reading Rooms on a monthly basis. Start/end times will vary depending on activity.
Basic materials will be provided for beginners but please bring along an old towel and, if you have it, your felting kit.
Please note that for sessions with invited external tutors bookings will open one month before the workshop.

(First visit free) £5 for non-members. £3 members.

York Feltmakers Programme 2023 Dates and Timings

We normally, but not always, meet on the 3rd Saturday of the month.
Workshop bookings are open 1 month in advance.
On meeting days the hall will be open for members to work from 10.00am – 4.00pm.

16th September 10.00am - approx 4.00pm - Louise Curnin
Small felted lampshades workshop.
21st October 10.00am - approx 4.00pm - Workshop lead by Galina Titova (a past YFM member).
Galina is going to share with us her wonderful and original felt making technique of using wisps of tops to create watercolor type flower designs on spectacle cases.
11th November 8.30am - 2.30pm - YFM have booked a table at Dunnington Craft Fair.
An opportunity for any member who wants to sell, exhibit their work and promote the art of felt making. Ideas and offers of help needed.
18th November 10.00am - 4.00pm - Skill share.
Polly Gibson and daughter Leonie, will be sharing their skills in making felt flower brooches.
16th December 10.00am - approx 4.00pm - This session allows space and time to finish off projects or begin new ones. Ideal for those new to feltmaking.
16th March 2024 Times TBA - Save the date: Workshop with Vivienne Morpeth

*A skill share is an informal session with a demonstration and the opportunity to practise a particular felt making skill.
